Specific Admission Requirements

Candidates who obtain a minimum score of 150 in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) are admitted to the Organic Agriculture Program based on central placement preferences.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Exemption exams for "Foreign Language" and "Computer Applications" courses are organized at the beginning of each academic year. Students who achieve a passing grade are exempted from these courses.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students must achieve a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully complete their compulsory workplace training (internship).

Profile of The Programme

The aim of this program is to train qualified technical personnel equipped with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills in organic crop and livestock production, quality control, storage, processing, and market preparation.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Public Institutions and Organizations: Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Agricultural Research Institutes, and Municipalities.
Private Sector Enterprises: Organic crop and livestock production/marketing companies, sustainable agriculture organizations (Organic Agriculture and Good Agricultural Practices), as well as control and certification bodies.
Self-Employment: Private organic crop and livestock production, consulting, and marketing enterprises.

Access to Further Studies

Upon successfully earning the two-year associate degree, graduates can take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by ÖSYM to transfer into undergraduate programs in Faculties of Agriculture. Upon graduation from these bachelor's degree programs, they earn the title of "Agricultural Engineer".
Undergraduate programs eligible for vertical transfer include: Horticulture, Plant Protection, Crop Production and Technologies, Biosystems Engineering, Organic Agriculture Management, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering, Agricultural Structures and Irrigation, Field Crops, Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, and Animal Science.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examinations and evaluations are conducted in accordance with the "Ege University Regulations on Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examinations". For each course offered on a semester basis, a midterm exam is administered during the term, followed by a final exam at the end of the semester. Assessments may include written, oral, practical, and laboratory evaluations depending on course requirements. Students who fail a course are entitled to take a make-up examination; summer school is not offered in this program.

Facilities

The program academic staff includes two full-time faculty members and one full-time lecturer. In addition, dedicated agricultural land for organic crop production and facilities for livestock production are available on campus to support students in practical courses.
